Star Wars: Unlimited - Allocation Update 1 - 5/29/24

This was taken directly from the email sent out to customers and added here for reference.

Dear Star Wars fans, As of today, we have received our allocation for Shadows of the Galaxy, and to summarize, we have bad news to share. First and foremost, I apologize to you. Receiving bad news sucks, but we want to be upfront about all the details, you deserve that. As many of you know from the previous email, we asked to order 1.5x of all three preorder waves combined. After receiving the email today with our Shadows of the Galaxy allocation, we ended up receiving 6.7% of what we asked for in booster boxes, or 11.1% of all of our preorders, and are unable to fulfill most orders for release.

Email notifications already were sent out for the 11.1% of orders that can be fulfilled; so, this is the only communication you have received from us today, you are included in the group that will likely not be receiving their booster box order upon the release date. We are so devastated and so, so sorry. According to our rep, Shadows of the Galaxy production was already in motion before Spark of Rebellion was released, meaning the production quantity was the same.  We’re still not sure why this information was kept under wraps until now. Businesses that ordered Spark of Rebellion with Asmodee were allocated enough to match their original order and no more. After regular conversations with our account rep and learning the largest orders from Spark of Rebellion were well over 500 cases, we thought (at the time of opening preorders) that the combination of the popularity of set one and the talk of increased production/plans from Fantasy Flight Games to accommodate the increased demand would make our wave sizes of 30 cases per wave very conservative, and we were wrong. So, what now?  - Options - We’re here to do everything we possibly can to remedy this, to do right by you at every step, and to avoid this in the future. Below are some options to create a solution. Option 1 - Cancellation: You can cancel your order before it ships, period. All funding received for preorders sits in a separate account until the order is fulfilled, with no exceptions. Please email me at matthew@tcgmoonblast.com with the subject line “Cancellation for Order #00000. You will receive an automated email notification once the refund is processed. Cancellations are subject to the cancellation fee outlined on the product page that matches the payment processing fee that we are charged upfront when orders are placed, which is 3% for credit cards, PayPal, Apply Pay, Google Pay, and 6% for AfterPay or Affirm. Note: we are a husband-and-wife team. Please be patient as we work to get these corrected. If you have not gotten an automatic reply within 2 business days, please send me a nudge. Option 2 - Hold your spot & pricing for the future: Whether it be a new allocation wave, reprint, the next set, etc., we will make sure your order is fulfilled and is the highest priority. With the scarcity of set 2 now known, retail pricing is likely going to be the standard model as long as the product is available. Original preorder prices for this set will be reserved for the future when product becomes available. Preorders were all sold under MSRP as an “early bird special” that went up $5 per subsequent wave, and pricing will be reserved alongside the free expedited shipping on orders over $150, and orders will be fulfilled in the order they were received by the order date/time/quantity. Absolutely ZERO preorders or stock of product will be made available until every single person who has chosen this option has been made whole. No exceptions. If you choose to reserve your spot, you will have the option to:

A) Hold for a matching Shadows of the Galaxy order, whether new allocation, restock, or reprint.

B) Transfer your order to a different set. This includes the third set, Twilight of the Republic, and Spark of Rebellion reprint. More details to come on how to opt for this.

The estimated time we are likely able to fulfill these will vary, but likely ENTIRELY by pre-holidays with the reprint and larger initial stock of set 3, see “What We Know” section below for more info.) - Additional Information - Will all orders still be able to be fulfilled at some point? Yes, we will be able to fulfill the remaining orders in time, but likely not in one allocation order until the increased print demand is met this holiday season or with set 3, Twilight of the Republic. We were lucky enough to order Spark of Rebellion before it was a smash hit so we will likely retain some form of grandfathering into being able to get an allocation upon every release. What We Know: We have been informed that there are going to be many cancellations for distributor orders and their numbers will be distributed to other accounts like ours. We are likely going to be assigned more allocation for different products but are unsure of a final number just yet. I will be posting updates to this once our final numbers are in. Our account rep is aware of our preorder numbers and is working adamantly to secure more product. We were also told that there is much more that should be available in Sept/Oct, which is likely going to be in the form of a reprint alongside the Spark of Rebellion one that was announced to be released “before the holidays”. Additionally, it was also mentioned that set 3, Twilight of the Republic, is supposed to be the first set that the increased production will be able to be felt by consumers. What We Don’t Know: When we can fulfill the majority of orders for this second set until the aforementioned “before the holidays” Fantasy Flight Games had mentioned. We’ve heard that this set is entirely in waves and we may end up receiving more allocation in time, but until we have actual numbers we’re going to be cautious. It’s also possible they are reserving much larger numbers to potentially increase the support of weekly in-person events until set 3 is out. They may even be waiting to fulfill actual requested want numbers until the stock meets the demand, and when that does happen it’s possible we could get first dibs on higher numbers since new accounts can’t even get the product at all and there seems to be a focus on who purchased before the set was popular. These are unknowns, I will update every possible chance I can. Prerelease Kits/GameGenic Accessories: We have received our allocation of Prerelease kits and accessories, pending the final number of how many get shuffled our way from other cancellations. These will only be made available to those who have preordered and will not be receiving product for the set release.  Going Forward: We will no longer be offering preorders for any sets until both of the following conditions are met: First, 100% of all current orders are made whole and fulfilled or refunded, whichever is preferred. Second, until after we have already received our future allocation numbers straight from Asmodee, so this never happens again. We have learned some hard lessons from this and will use this to help us avoid making mistakes in the future. We are lifelong Star Wars nerds and TCG fans who are committed to correcting this. As soon as an update is available, we will reach out with more email updates. Until then, know that we will be here at every step. Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns as we navigate this process. We know how devastating this is for all of us and want to emphasize that we are so truly sorry.

Sincerely yours, Matthew and Krissy -Owners, TCG Moonblast
